Urbandale Construction is proud to support research and development into future housing technologies through our ongoing partnership with Carleton University.
Since 2009, Urbandale has been working with the fourth year engineering students in the High Performance Housing Group. The students have taken Urbandale home designs and studied the most cost effective energy efficiency options. We have incorporated many of their ideas and suggestions in our standard ENERGY STAR® home designs, as well as our R-2000 upgrade.
Urbandale has also made the commitment to donate a home to be built on the Carleton University campus. This home will be used as a research lab for post-graduate students. It is our hope that this research will help to move the industry forward and promote innovation in housing designs.
